Our Companion Classes are designed to train well-mannered, attentive and compliant pet dogs. Graduates of our Companion Pro class have the skills to embark on careers in many dog sports or activities should the handler be motivated to do so! Please visit our FAQ page for answers to frequent questions.

2017 Training Sessions start dates: Jan. 7, March 11, May 20, July 29, October 14.

• Puppy Playschool – 8 classes (1st class no puppy) – $260 taxes included
For all puppies of 8 weeks to 5 months old. Toy breeds up to 9 months old
• Companion Rookie – 8 classes (1st class no puppy) – $295 taxes included
Basic training for dogs at least 5 months old as well as graduates of Puppy Playschool
• Companion Pro – 8 classes – $295 taxes included
Advanced and Off-leash training, for graduates of our Companion Rookie

Available Classes

Puppy Playschool

For most puppies 2 to 5 months old (Toy breeds may be as old as 9 months. Large and guarding breeds must be no more than 4 months at start of classes).
Focus on socialization and confidence-building games. Puppies develop important life skills and trust in their owners. We help you with unwanted behaviors such as jumping, nipping and barking. Our gentle methods are effective with puppies as young as 8 weeks old.
1st class is without puppy

Companion Rookie

Basic training for dogs 5 months and older and also for graduates of our Puppy Playschool. Large breeds may join at an earlier age. Life skills and essential manners such as coming when called, not pulling on the leash and not jumping on people. Practical and effective training to help your dog become a well-behaved member of your family.
1st class is without dog.

Companion Pro

More advanced obedience training skills including off-leash work, response to signals, attention games and distraction training for graduates of Companion Rookie.

Agility

Introduction to this fun sport done with focus on both technique and safety. Teams (handler AND dog) must have completed Companion Rookie and Companion Pro at Blue Ribbon.

NOTE: All agility students are required to help with the setup and take-down of equipment.

Agility Basic Level: Beginners – Must have completed Companion Pro at Blue Ribbon.
Agility Advanced Level: Must have completed Agility Basic Level
Agility Competition Level: Must have completed Agility Advanced Level.

Competition Obedience

For teams (both handler and dog) that have graduated from our Companion Pro class. To prepare for CKC Obedience Competition and to perfect previously learned behaviours and teach new ones such as retrieving, jumping on cue and scent discrimination. You can train for fun or to prepare for competition, it’s up to you!

Preparation for CKC and CARO Rally-Obedience competition, or just for mental stimulation and fun! A sport for teams (handler AND dog) that have graduated from our Companion Pro level only.
